“The creation awaits the revelation of the children of God also through art and in art. This is your task. Humanity in every age, and even today, looks to works of art to shed light upon its path and its destiny.”
---Pope John Paul II, “Letter to Artists” 1999
Our Theater Director, Mr. Patrick Boos (MA in Theater, USC), has produced more than fifty major productions in fourteen years at Cardinal Newman School, including ten Shakespearean productions and several musicals.
The club makes every effort to include all students who are interested in Theater, and there are several opportunities each year for students to participate in design, direction, writing, performance and crew! Club meetings take place after school two or three times per week, and students do not need to be in the Drama classes to participate.
Each production has a Friday and Saturday night performance, as well as a Sunday matinee. Our 2018-2019 season:
November 9th-11th Our Town, by Thornton Wilder
February 1st-2nd Café Murder, a mystery dinner theater
March 15th-17th Cymbeline, by William Shakespeare
May 3rd-5th The Jeweller’s Shop, by Karol Wojtyla
