Ms. Heather Dubs
Welcome! I am excited to join the Cardinal Newman family and begin working with the students, parents, faculty and staff! I am the Head Athletic Trainer and have the honor of establishing the Sports Medicine program for students who are interested in the profession of Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, and other allied health professions within the realm of sports.
Education and Experience I have a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina and a Master's degree in Sport Management from George Washington University. I am a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of South Carolina, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. I have covered numerous youth and college sponsored sports camps at several universities and colleges throughout the East Coast.
Classes and Student Opportunities: The 2018-2019 school year will include the Introduction to Sports Medicine I, a semester long course that will discuss the foundations of Athletic Training, basic human anatomy, as well as brief overviews of injuries related to sports.
High school students also have the opportunity to learn and experience the day to day operations of myself and a supplemental Athletic Trainer with the Cardinal Newman Junior Varsity and Varsity teams for practice and competitions. Students who are interested in participating need to pick up an application from the Athletic Training Room or email me.
